Glenda del Monte Escalante, known professionally as Glenda del E, is a Cuban pianist, vocalist, composer, and educator whose work bridges classical music, Afro-Cuban traditions, jazz, soul, and contemporary Latin styles. Born in Havana, Cuba, into a musical family, she received rigorous classical training at Conservatorio Amadeo Roldán while performing popular music alongside her parents. After emigrating to Toronto, she pursued advanced studies under scholarship at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and a master’s degree in Ethnomusicology and Performance. Her diverse background informs a dynamic, cross-genre approach to performance and education.

As a touring and recording artist, Glenda has collaborated with Grammy-winning musicians including Alejandro Sanz, Pedrito Martinez, Paquito D’Rivera, Michael League, Antonio Sánchez, and Karol G. She co-released Ella (2022), a Latin Grammy-nominated instrumental album celebrating women composers. Her solo projects showcase her original compositions that reflect cultural and emotional depth.
