Mohannad Nasser: Seeking the Intersection of Traditional and Contemporary Music

One reason Mohannad Nasser chose to study at Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain, was to explore the link between the traditional music of his native Syria and that of Spain—a country, he says, that reminds him of home. Another big factor was to study flamenco, a genre he regards as a great language to explore the balance between tradition and the present.

Berklee Valencia and CD Baby Present The First DIY Musician Conference in Europe

Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain, and CD Baby present the first European edition of the DIY Musician Conference on April 14 and 15, 2018 at Berklee Valencia and at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia. The two-day conference will present a roster of 22 international music industry leaders and will consist of more than 25 panels, workshops and keynotes on topics including management, European and U.S. copyright, vocal and guitar miking techniques, and release strategies in a streaming world. The event also offers networking and performance opportunities, all tailored to the independent musician.
