Berklee Valencia and CD Baby Present The First DIY Musician Conference in Europe

Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain, and CD Baby present the first European edition of the DIY Musician Conference on April 14 and 15, 2018 at Berklee Valencia and at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia. The two-day conference will present a roster of 22 international music industry leaders and will consist of more than 25 panels, workshops and keynotes on topics including management, European and U.S. copyright, vocal and guitar miking techniques, and release strategies in a streaming world. The event also offers networking and performance opportunities, all tailored to the independent musician.

Student Munhui Kim: Being a Late Bloomer Has Its Rewards

Compared to most musicians, who begin playing an instrument when they are young, South Korean Munhui Kim had a very late start. Initially encouraged by her mathematical abilities, she earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering (control systems) at Wonkwang University in 1999. Today, she studies in the Master of Music in Contemporary Performance (Production Concentration) program at Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain, and refers to program director Casey Driessen as her “newfound inspiration.”
