Joshua Wheatley is a drummer and educator from England, currently based in Spain. He performs with SongAh Chae Trio and teaches at Berklee Valencia.
He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and pursued his master's degree at the Berklee Valencia campus in Spain. In 2017, he transitioned to faculty at the campus. He released his debut album, Crisis, that same year.
In 2018, he performed the album live at Jimmy Glass Jazz Bar in Valencia. In 2023, he performed at the London Jazz Festival with SongAh Chae Trio and recorded the album In The Beginning. Since the album's release in January 2024, the trio have performed at Circulo Bellas Artes de Madrid, Bilbao, and Valencia. In 2025, Wheatley released his second album, Joshua Wheatley 5tet Live at Jimmy Glass. He's currently recording a new album with SongAh Chae Trio, to be released in 2025.
