Nikki Craven teaches the Yoga for Musicians 1 course at Berklee Valencia, incorporating elements of hatha, vinyasa flow, and rocket (progressive ashtanga) yoga. Craven's classes begin dynamically, drawing from the playful and adventurous nature of vinyasa, before transitioning into more restorative and grounding sequences. Respecting the roots and traditions of yoga, Craven aims to weave in philosophy, mantra, and meditation alongside the movement practice.

With a background as a speech and language therapist, Nikki brings an understanding of neurology, breath control, and nervous system regulation to her teaching. Her aim is to create space for students to connect with themselves, cultivate creativity and resilience, and find moments of peace in an ever-chaotic world.

In Their Own Words

When we practice yoga, it’s like holding up a mirror, revealing our beauty, our strength, our current state of mind, as well as our doubts and insecurities. With consistent practice and a gentle attitude, we can befriend all parts of ourselves and build powerful self-knowledge to carry with us off the mat. We connect with the breath, the body, and our energy in a way that anchors us in the present moment.

This is why I love yoga, and why I believe it’s such a powerful practice, especially for musicians and artists, who often face intense pressures and expectations. Yoga offers a space to reconnect, to release, and to build the kind of embodied awareness that supports both creative expression and personal wellbeing.
