Berklee’s Company Spotlight Connects Students with 100-Plus Career Opportunities

Berklee’s Company Spotlight is an annual online event where leading music companies connect with students to share brief presentations on their business models, hiring practices, and current openings. This year, over 30 companies attended, including Carnival Entertainment, Trafalgar13, Columbia Records, Superfly, Roig Arena, Cirque du Soleil, Bleeding Fingers, Warner Latin America, and Dolby.
Organized by the International Career Center (ICC), this edition built upon last year’s success, which not only provided students with invaluable insights into current music businesses, but also resulted in several students securing positions within the music industry. Two Music Production, Technology and Innovation students and one Contemporary Performance (Production Concentration) student were hired by Musiversal and a Global Entertainment and Music Business student earned an internship at Peermusic.
“I really appreciate the initiative!” commented João Bruno Soeiro, head of music at Musiversal. “Both this and last year were wonderful opportunities to connect with, and hire, future graduates.”
The event was split into three online sessions, with 60-70 students connecting each session. Apart from attending the presentations, students had the opportunity to join breakout rooms to engage in more in-depth conversations with individual companies. By the end of the day, over 100 job and internship opportunities had been shared and the students had forged many new connections within the European music industry.
“As always, great organization and flow for a remote Zoom event! I love working with Berklee Valencia and participating in this,” shared Amy Siripunyo, head of marketing at Groover.
The ICC looks forward to seeing what additional new relationships will blossom from this event. Berklee’s Company Spotlight plays a key role in the ICC’s mission to provide professional development experiences for students that help them build the skills needed to thrive in their chosen careers.
