First Year Abroad: Accepted Students
If you have been accepted to Berklee’s Campus in Valencia for the First Year Abroad program, there are a number of enrollment steps to complete prior to the start of the semester. Review the information below and check the next steps section in the admissions portal(Opens in a new window) for a comprehensive list of action items.
Submit Your Tuition Deposit
Tuition deposits for Berklee College of Music are due upon acceptance notification. This initial deposit is credited towards your first semester bill. This deposit confirms your intention to attend the college and secures your seat in the entering class.
To confirm your attendance, you will need to submit your tuition deposit through your admissions portal(Opens in a new window).
Passport and Visa Information
All students on the Valencia campus need a passport which will remain valid for at least six months beyond their period of study abroad in Spain. You should have your passport ready at least four months before your enrollment at Berklee Valencia will begin.
All students will also need a Spanish student visa (visado de estudios) unless they are a citizen or legal resident of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA). The EEA encompasses all EU member countries plus Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, and Switzerland.
It can take several months to compile your visa application documents and apply for your visa, so it is important that you start the process as soon as possible. Follow the instructions on applying for a visa on our Passport and Visa Information page and reach out to Berklee if you have any questions.
Review and Manage Your Financial Aid

Additionally, undergraduate domestic entering students must complete the CSS Profile for institutional need-based funding before the start of the program. Use the CSS school code—3107—when prompted.
If you have any questions regarding your financial aid package, please contact onestop@berklee.edu.
Housing Information and Application
First Year Abroad students are required to live in housing arranged by Berklee. We have secured spaces in the residence Livensa Living Marina Real, or in similar residences. Learn more about your housing residence on the Valencia website.
As a Livensa resident, it is important to note that a security deposit of €250 is required from you in August before move-in. This deposit is refundable provided that everything is in the same condition as when you first received it.
Deposited students can expect to receive a housing preference form via email soon. This form will allow students to specify their preferred room type, request a particular roommate, or take a personality test to find a compatible roommate match.
Review Health Insurance Information
All students enrolled in a program at Berklee’s campus in Valencia are automatically enrolled in MAPFRE's health insurance coverage program, specifically designed for Berklee Valencia students. This coverage cannot be waived.
Additionally, all Valencia students are automatically enrolled in and charged for the Berklee SHIP (School Health Insurance Program) as required by the State of Massachusetts. Students may waive participation in SHIP by demonstrating they are enrolled in a health insurance plan that meets the requirements of their program.
Submit Your Immunizations
All entering and transfer students must submit a completed Berklee Entering Student Immunization form to Magnus Health, Berklee’s provider for collecting, managing, and tracking immunization information. You will use your OnePass to log into your Magnus Health account. More information about how to submit your immunizations is on the Immunization Requirements webpage.
Please be aware that it may take up to a week from your admittance to the institution for your Magnus Health account to be active. Note that Berklee recommends all community members (students, faculty, and staff) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
