Join us for an unforgettable night of original music by rising artists from the Berklee Valencia Master of Music in Contemporary Performance program. This intimate concert features three unique acts, each showcasing powerful artistry and fresh musical perspectives.
The evening opens with Alida McKeon, a singer-songwriter whose sound is steeped in the warmth of mid-20th century jazz and pop. With lyrics that explore social justice, modern romance, and mental health, McKeon creates music that’s both timeless and relevant. As NPR’s Jazz Night in America describes, her songs “wash over the listener with deeply personal lyrics.”
Next, violist and composer Drew Keeve leads an unconventional string quartet—featuring banjo, Brazilian bandolim, electric bass, and viola—in a genre-defying performance. Through original compositions that reimagine the American West, Keeve’s work invites reflection on humanity and a celebration of the natural world.
Closing the night is the dynamic duo of Auriyan Tillman and Gavin Rushing. With roots in jazz and soul, Tillman is a powerhouse vocalist whose voice channels truth and emotional depth. Accompanied by Rushing’s masterful piano arrangements, she will present three originals from her highly anticipated upcoming album, New Bloom, set to release this summer.
Don't miss this vibrant showcase of tomorrow's leading voices in contemporary music.
