Percussion Faculty to perform at festival in Colombia

On June 26, 27, and 29, Sergio Martínez, a percussionist, arranger, composer, and ensemble instructor in the Master of Music in Contemporary Performance (Production Concentration) program at Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain, will lead master classes and perform in a series of concerts as part of the Festival Internacional de Percusión Tamborimba in Cali, Colombia. Martínez will present an original repertoire, mixing flamenco and jazz while exploring folkloric Colombian rhythms.

Though the series of master classes, two scholarship recipients will be selected by assessing student performances and musical capabilities. The awarded scholarships will go to one student selected for Berklee’s Spain Summer Performance Program and one eligible for our graduate programs.
