Con-fusión Jazz Quartet
Fernando Cilio (Ecuador): Guitar
Ruben Castaño (Colombia): Piano
Christopher Attwell (UK): Electric Bass
Pancho Montañez (Venezuela): Drums
The "Con-fusión Jazz Quartet" unites four musicians from three neighbouring South American countries — Fernando Cilio on guitar (Ecuador), Ruben Castaño on piano (Colombia) and Pancho Montañez on drums (Venezuela), with European electric bassist Christopher Attwell (UK). All four arrived to Valencia in late 2015 as students of the contemporary performance master’s degree at Berklee College of Music’s international campus, eager to meet like-minded musicians with a global mindset and passion for collaboration. In this last year, they have joined forces on many recording and performance projects, including their Con-fusión Jazz Quartet in which their indigenous folk traditions fuse with their love of contemporary jazz.
