Berklee’s Campus in Valencia and InnDEA Initiate a Collaboration That Will Connect Students’ Ventures with the City’s Startup Ecosystem

Berklee College of Music’s campus in Valencia, Spain, will collaborate with the Valencia InnDEA Foundation, a body promoted by the Valencia Town Council with the aim of supporting and encouraging development in the city by innovation in its various forms.

The goal is to connect Berklee’s campus in Valencia to the the flourishing startup ecosystem in the city. Initiatives such as Lanzadera and Sitka Capital are putting Valencia in the spotlight and positioning it as one of Europe’s fastest growing environment for startups, with an increasing niche of hubs destined to give exposure, mentor and fund the startups of the future. As a platform for innovation and an entrepreneurship launcher present in both national and international trade shows, Berklee’s campus in Valencia aims to contribute to both Valencia’s and Spain’s startups industry.

Startups developed by this year’s students from the Global Entertainment and Music Business master’s program include Flits, which was a finalist at Primavera Sounds’ PrimaveraPro Startups 2015 contest. Through the Flits platform, users can discover musical events in real time, gain information about the current atmosphere of the event wherever it is (photos, videos, streaming). Other startup concepts such as Show Flow, Ask a Guru, Deacon Creative, Play it ON, and Next UP were presented in June at MIDEM in Cannes, France, and will be introduced to InnDEA’s network VIT Emprende, where all the players of the city’s startup ecosystem are represented.
