On August 29, 2022, Berklee Valencia began its fall semester by welcoming 293 students from 51 countries, including the United States, China, India, Singapore, Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Japan, New Zealand, Slovenia, Philippines, Azerbaijan, Greece, Taiwan, and South Africa, among others. The 2022–2023 student body comprises 141 graduate students and 152 undergraduate students who came to Valencia through the Berklee Study Abroad and First Year Abroad exchange programs, including nine from Spain, two of them from the Valencian autonomous community,
In addition to its annual activity program, this academic year Berklee’s first international campus will offer a wide array of free concerts, including the series Un Lago de Conciertos and the commencement concert, La Nit de Berklee, both operating within the program of Música en Abierto, in collaboration with the City of Arts and Sciences. The campus will also be part of Berklee a Les Arts, an ongoing collaboration with the Palau de les Arts that offers the audience new meeting points for music and other artistic disciplines related to the pieces performed at Les Arts opera house.
In January 2023, Berklee Valencia will host the Global Career Summit, with visiting experts who will help students with their professional development through a series of panels, workshops, and individual mentoring sessions. In the spring, the campus will host INOCON, a music and tech conference featuring innovators in different areas of the music industry.
In addition, this year the campus will be home to the 2023 International Conductors Guild conference, which aims to dedicate, encourage, and promote the highest standards in conducting and welcomes professionals from around the world.
With a unique curriculum as well as an International Career Center, the Valencia campus offers Berklee’s first graduate programs in music production, technology, and innovation; contemporary performance (production concentration); scoring for film, television, and video games; and global entertainment and music business. Close to $1.6 million in scholarships has been awarded to graduate students for this academic year.
