Berklee Valencia Brings Music Industry Leaders Together at Berklee Global Career Summit
Earlier this year, Berklee Valencia organized the fourth annual of the Berklee Global Career Summit. The three-day conference included more than 20 leaders in the music industry participating as speakers and mentors.
The event included presentations, panels, mentorships and informative sessions focused on providing practical knowledge to support attendees’ professional development, mainly in the areas of business, film scoring, production, and songwriting. It took place at Auditorio Santiago Grisolia within the Museu de les Ciències in Valencia.
Guest speakers included Susan Rogers, who worked as an audio engineer with Prince and David Byrne as a producer, and four-time Grammy nominee Patrice Rushen, a noted singer, composer, and producer. Other speakers included Cristina Abaroa, the founder of Moon Moosic and producer of many Grammy- and Latin Grammy-winning albums; French audio engineer DJ Alexkid; rapper Koncept; and Spanish composer Xavier Capellas.
The Summit closed with the twelfth edition of the Berklee Showcase at Sala Jerusalem. The showcase is a free public event that gives local promoters and audiences a chance to get a sense of the talent at Berklee Valencia. The event closed with a jam session led by guest artist Patrice Rushen, which included students, faculty, and conference attendees.
