Undergraduate students:
All Study Abroad and First Year Abroad students have returned safely to their home countries. Livensa Living (formerly known as Collegiate Maria Real) remains open with limited services for the small number of residents that have had to stay. We have adopted a number of additional precautionary measures around the reception and common areas, as well as with maintenance, cleaning, laundry, and package collection services, to preserve the health of the building’s ongoing residents and employees.
Berklee is prorating housing charges for the spring 2020 semester for Valencia undergraduate students. For more information, please visit the COVID19 Alerts Page. For any questions about housing (e.g., assistance with shipping), please contact studentaffairsvalencia@berklee.edu)
Graduate and Summer students
Graduate students currently in Valencia should inform the Student Affairs team in Valencia (studentaffairsvalencia@berklee.edu) of any plans to return to their home countries. Those who are in Valencia should also inform the team of their current address.
The health and safety of our students at this extremely challenging time is our top priority. Specific resources available to students include the following:
For graduate students in Valencia:
Berklee’s medical assistance team continues to provide help to students in need in Valencia. Call +34 618 001 661 if you experience any symptoms of illness, whether or not they are related to COVID-19.
Counseling Services will still be accessible online through Dr. Maria Zarza and her team. Students can book an appointment with the Counseling Services team here
For graduate students who have returned home during the spring semester:
Students who have returned to the U.S. may access telehealth medical care through Online Connect, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (for students 18 years of age and older). Berklee will continue to cover the access fee for this service. Register for telehealth through Online Connect using the service key “Berklee” when prompted. Students may also download the Online Connect app. Students currently located outside of the U.S. are not able to access this service due to licensing permissions.
For undergraduates students:
MAPFRE health insurance coverage in Spain will no longer be valid after March 31. Students’ primary health insurance should cover students as they continue classes remotely and until the end of the semester. Study Abroad and First Year Abroad students who are not based in the U.S. should consult with their primary health insurance providers for more specific information, and students from other schools should check with their home institutions regarding their primary coverage.
Students will receive a prorated credit for the remainder of the spring semester for the MAPFRE health insurance coverage on their student account. The credit may be used to offset any outstanding balance on their student account
Additionally, undergraduate students still have access to the following resources:
SilverCloud, a clinically proven online mental health platform, is now available for free for students. The platform offers programs to help build resilience, manage anxiety or depression, and develop skills to manage stress and sleep issues. These programs use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and positive psychology to guide students as they build self-awareness and self-management skills for their emotional health. To sign up for SilverCloud, select "Berklee" from the school name dropdown menu, and use your Berklee email address to access the service.

As the spring semester is now being finished remotely, Berklee has been instructed by Spanish official authorities to proceed with the cancellation of Spanish student visas for those students who needed one to study in Spain (non-European citizens). No action is needed from the students’ end as Berklee Valencia will take care of completing this process, but know that in the event that students would like to return to Spain at a later time (unrelated to their studies), they will have the option to obtain a tourist visa.
At this point, First Year Abroad students should begin preparing for the next steps in their Berklee journey. They can reach out directly to one of the following Boston campus offices for specific information:
Housing and Residential Education (on campus accommodation)
Academic Advising (reach out to Hillary Booker directly at: hbooker@berklee.edu )
Student Life (includes information about the offices of Campus Life, Housing and Residential Education, Health and Wellness, and Community Standards and Conflict Resolution)
Accessibility Resources for Students (formerly known as Disability Services)
International Student Services (visas)
